Are Call Of Duty Chat Bans Too Much?

Since the release of BO6, Call of Duty has seen popularity like it did at it's peak. With so many amazing games and competitive shooters it was a shock to many when it came out swinging this last year with Black Ops 6. Now lately it has had numerous issues, from rampant cheaters both using wall hacks and also purposely crashing lobbies to the topic of today the absolute insanity that is the auto chat bans.

Chat bans are something that is admittedly required when discussing multiplayers games especially ones with any sort of competitive aspect. Honestly, the competitiveness isn't really needed. To be fair, I would still run my friends down the road even if we were playing Stardew Valley multiplayer.

But this is the norm when it comes to a majority of friend groups. You talk shit to each other, you saying horrifically mean, homosexual, and provocative things to each other strictly because you're both breathing. But apparently now CoD has been handing out chat bans to people even when talking away from the public. There have been wild amounts of players claiming to be getting bans in game even without being reported, because it was said in a lobby with only players they knew were in there. Now, the chances of ALL of these people not having at least one son a bitch friend who just wants to see the world burn is not likely, but the chances ALL of these claims having the same outcome is also impossible.

Shit talking has been a staple of Call of Duty since it's beginning , and in all honestly it's really the dominating reason many of us ever played it to begin with. I could give a fuck about Modern Warfare or camo grinding in 2007, but when I found out I could call someone in Belgium a waffle eating bitch I was immediately interested. Now again, shit talking like everything has legit extremes that even I nor my friends condone, and our ruthlessness has even encountered hardcore angry, racist, awful humans who even we were like "fuck hope that guy gets banned", and I'm sure they did. But you know what they did, they made a new account and continued to doing it. Banning people for calling each other cross-eyed fuck faces, within their own party, is just insanity.

NOT TO MENTION, how they BUTCHERED SEARCH AND DESTROY, in hopes of cutting down the shit talking;

Search and Destroy has always been for hardcore shit talkers. That is what it's there for, sure some people actually like the increased pressure and stakes of having to wait out the round on death, and the pressure with its 5:5. But the real pressure is when your friend has been talking the most shit since round one and you KNOW they are going to roast you to hell and back if you shit the bed and don't clutch the last round. You know you can't back out, then you'll get roasted even worse by your friends AND you'll get whispered by the other team too. So that pressure builds and makes a fun and stressful match. But NOW they have drastically shortened the time between rounds, and sometimes there is less than 15 seconds. Even worse, they have all but eliminated the exiting lobby. There used to be over a minute of sheer goodbye shit talking at the end of the match, and now there is barely any time if any (which happens more often than not) so the team v team shit talking is barely even existent. So what are we playing for? To diffuse the bomb? Fuck that.
